Chapter 12: Settings, Printer & Preferences (सेटिंग्स व थर्मल प्रिंटर)

The Settings page lets you customize BahiKhata Green to match the exact way your mandi business operates—from printing your shop name on paper slips to configuring Bluetooth receipt printers and default mandi commission rates.

⚙️ 1. Overview of the Settings Page#

Click on "Settings (सेटिंग्स)" in the navigation menu:

🏪 2. Shop & Organization Profile (दुकान का नाम व पता)#

The details you enter here will appear at the top of all printed receipts and WhatsApp digital bills:

How to update your shop details:#

Click "Edit Shop Details (दुकान विवरण बदलें)".
Enter:
- Trade / Firm Name: (e.g. Shree Ganesh Vegetable Traders).
- Phone Number: Mobile number printed on customer bills for inquiries.
- Mandi Address: (e.g. Shop No. 14, APMC Fruit & Vegetable Mandi, Vashi).
Click "Save Changes".

🌾 3. Mandi Trade Defaults (कमीशन व हम्माली दरें)#

Tired of typing the same commission rate or labor charge on every bill? Set your standard defaults once:

Default Mandi Commission (आढ़त / कमीशन %): (e.g. 5% or 6%). Auto-fills on new sale and purchase bills.
Default Market Fee (मंडी टैक्स %): (e.g. 1% or 1.5%).
Default Labor / Hammaali (हम्माली प्रति बोरी): (e.g. ₹5.00 per bag/crate).
Default Package Type (पैकिंग प्रकार): Choose Jute Bag / बोरी, Plastic Crate / क्रेट, Wooden Box / पेटी, Net Bag / जाली, or Carton.

Click "Save Preferences" to apply these defaults across all billing screens.

🖨️ 4. Thermal Receipt Printer Setup (Bluetooth & USB)#

BahiKhata Green supports instant, inkless thermal receipt printers so you can print durable 2-inch or 3-inch receipts in less than 2 seconds.

Option A: Setting Up a Bluetooth Printer (on Android Phone or Tablet)#

Turn ON your portable Bluetooth thermal printer.
Go to Settings > Thermal Printer in the app.
Select "Bluetooth" as the connection mode.
Choose your paper width: 58mm (2-inch) or 80mm (3-inch).
Tap "🔵 Pair Bluetooth Printer".
A device list will appear on your phone screen. Tap your printer name (e.g. MTP-II, POS-58, or Bluetooth Printer).
Tap "🖨️ Print Test Receipt".
A clean test slip with the BahiKhata Green logo will instantly roll out of your printer! 🎉

Option B: Setting Up a USB Printer (on Windows / Mac Desktop or Laptop)#

Plug your thermal printer's USB cable into your computer.
In the app, go to Settings > Thermal Printer.
Select "USB" mode.
Click "Connect USB Printer" and select your printer from the popup window.
Click "Print Test Receipt" to confirm.

🏬 5. Managing Mandi Branches & Stalls (शाखाएं)#

If your business expands to multiple stalls, cold storages, or godowns:

In the Branches section, click "+ Add Branch (नई शाखा जोड़ें)".
Enter the Branch Name (e.g. Stall #45 - Onion Wholesale) and Address.
Click "Save Branch".
You and your staff can now switch to this new branch anytime from the top menu!

💾 6. Data Backup & Restore (डेटा बैकअप व सुरक्षा)#

Your business data is precious. Even though your data is safely backed up in the cloud, you can also download your own offline copy anytime:

Download Backup: Click "Download Full Business Backup" to save a complete copy of all your customers, suppliers, sales, purchases, and stock onto your computer or phone storage.
Restore Data: In case of emergency or migrating to a new server, select "Restore from Backup File" and upload your saved backup file.

Q1: Which thermal printer model should I buy?

Any standard ESC/POS 58mm (2-inch) or 80mm (3-inch) Bluetooth or USB thermal printer available on Amazon or in local markets (e.g. Everycom, NGX, POS-58, Citizen, TVS, Epson) works seamlessly with BahiKhata Green.

Q2: Do thermal printers require ink or cartridges?

No! Thermal printers use heat-sensitive paper rolls. You never need to buy or refill messy ink or toner cartridges. A standard ₹20 paper roll can print hundreds of customer receipts.

Q3: Can I customize the header text on printed receipts?

Yes! Whatever Shop Name, Mandi Address, Phone Number, and Greeting message (e.g. Thank you / फिर पधारें) you enter in Shop Profile will automatically be printed on every receipt.
